These juicy grilled turkey burgers are sure to please! Using ground turkey thighs ensures tender, juicy burgers, while hoisin sauce adds moisture and flavor. You can also cook these burgers in a grill pan or skillet.

How To Make Turkey Burgers

  • Oil the grill grate. Heat to high heat.
  • Combine the ground turkey, hoisin sauce, green onion, cilantro, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl.
  • Shape the mixture into four 6-ounce burgers and press an indentation into the center of each patty.
  • Grill the burgers over direct heat for about 5 to 6 minutes on each side, or until they register at least 165 F in the center.
  • Assemble the burgers on grilled or toasted buns with your favorite toppings.

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey thighs, or 85% to 90% lean ground turkey
  • 4 tablespoons Asian hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onion
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped cilantro leaves
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 split hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground turkey with the hoisin sauce, chopped green onion, cilantro, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Shape the meat mixture into four large burgers or about six to eight slider-size burgers.
  3. Oil the grill grate with vegetable oil. Grill the turkey burgers over medium heat for about 5 to 6 minutes on each side, or until the burgers register at least 165 F on an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of the thickest burgers.
  4. Grill or toast the buns, if desired.
  5. Assemble the turkey burgers in buns with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, or your favorite toppings.
