Quick Pizza Sauce (5 Minutes!)

This quick pizza sauce is perfect for any homemade pizza craving!

Tomatoes, tomato paste, olive oil, garlic, and herbs make this easy pizza sauce the only one you’ll need to make a delicious homemade pizza. All you have to do is blend the ingredients and simmer briefly, and you’ll have a flavorful pizza sauce in as little as 5 minutes! Besides pizza, this is an excellent sauce for pasta and casseroles. It’s also a tasty dip for fried chicken, wings, focaccia, and mozzarella sticks.

Recipe Variation

Pizza Sauce With Onions and Garlic: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Sauté 1/4 cup of chopped onion in the hot oil for 3 to 5 minutes or until translucent. Add 1 teaspoon of minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute longer. Add the sauce mixture and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 5 minutes to blend the flavors.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 14.5- ounce can diced tomatoes
  • 1 6- ounce can tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 3/4 teaspoon dried leaf oregano
  • 3/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • dash crushed red pepper flakes, or to taste (optional)

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender and process until smooth.
  • Pour the sauce into a medium saucepan; bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Lower the heat and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes to blend the flavors. 
  • Spread the sauce over a homemade or purchased pizza crust and add your favorite toppings.
  • Makes 2 cups, enough for two 12-inch to 14-inch pizzas.
