Savory Bacon Muffins

These bacon muffins are a nice alternative to plain toast or sweet muffins. Serve them with scrambled or shirred eggs.

Total Time: 30 minutes
- Heat oven to 400 F.
- Grease a 12-cup muffin pan; place it in the oven to heat while you make the muffin batter.
- Combine the flour with baking powder, salt, and sugar. Stir in bacon drippings, milk, and eggs, mixing just until moistened.
- Fold in the crumbled bacon.
- Spoon the batter into the hot muffin pan; bake for about 18 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
