Simple Lemon Broccoli

Tired of the same old vegetable sides? Up your broccoli game with some lemon juice and a dash of garlic. Even your picky eaters will approve of this broccoli!

Ingredients
  

  • 20 ounces broccoli, frozen florets or spears
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • ½ tsp lemon zest, finely grated
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper, or to taste
  • Fine sea salt, to taste
  • Lemon juice, to taste
  • Dash garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  • Put the broccoli in a steaming basket over simmering water. Cover the pan and steam for 4 to 6 minutes, or until the broccoli is just tender. The broccoli should still be bright green.

  • Combine melted butter, lemon zest, and black pepper.
    3 tbsp melted butter | 1/2 tsp lemon zest | 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • Drain the broccoli; transfer to serving dish.
  • Toss the broccoli with the lemon and butter mixture. Season with salt, as needed, and drizzle with a little fresh lemon juice, to taste. If desired, add a dash of garlic powder.
