Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 bananas, soft, ripe, mashed

Instructions

  • Heat the oven to 325°F.
  • In a mixing bowl with an electric mixer, beat the sugar with the shortening until smooth and fluffy. Add the eggs, flour, soda, bananas, and chopped nuts; blend well.
  • Pour banana bread batter into 1 greased and floured loaf pan; bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
