Honey Garlic Spareribs

  • Trim the ribs and slice them into serving-sized portions. Put them in a large food storage bag or container.
    4 pounds pork spareribs
  • Mash the chopped garlic cloves with the salt, then add to a bowl with the honey, soy sauce, chicken broth, and ketchup. Pour the mixture over the ribs, refrigerate, and let them marinate for several hours or overnight. Turn several times to coat all surfaces.

  • Preheat oven to 450°F.
  • Place the spareribs in a foil-lined roasting pan with their marinade. Bake for 10 minutes at 450°F, then reduce oven temperature to 325°F. Continue baking for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, or until the ribs are beautifully tender. Baste occasionally to enhance the flavors and keep them moist.
  • Transfer the ribs to a serving platter and keep warm. Pour the pan juices into a measuring cup and skim off excess fat if needed. If needed, add a little water or broth to make 1 cup. Combine the cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water until smooth, then stir it into the pan juices. Cook until thickened and clear. Serve with the spareribs.
