  • Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until aromatic.
    1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil | 1 tsp minced garlic
    Saucepan with sautéed garlic.
  • Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, salt, and pepper to the saucepan and stir to blend.
    1 (14.5-ounce) can crushed tomatoes | 4 tbsp tomato paste | 1/2 tsp granulated sugar | 1/2 tsp dried oregano | 1/2 tsp Diamond kosher salt | 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
    Combining pizza sauce ingredients.
  • Bring the pizza sauce to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes. Taste and adjust the seasonings. Refrigerate or freeze the cooled sauce or use it immediately.
