Easy No-Churn Ice Cream

  • Place a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan in the freezer. 
  • Combine the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and salt in a medium bowl and whisk until well blended.
    1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk | 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract | 1 pinch fine salt

  • In a mixing bowl with an electric mixer, beat the heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks. Add about 1 cup of the whipped cream to the sweetened condensed milk mixture, stirring to blend.

  • Tip: Avoid overbeating the cream, which can cause graininess.
  • Add the sweetened condensed milk mixture to the remaining whipped cream and use a spatula to gently fold it in until blended.

  • Spread the mixture in the prepared loaf pan and place it in the freezer.

  • Freeze for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, then fold in any add-ins, if desired. Return to the freezer for about 3 to 4 hours longer, or until firm.
