Crostini With Parmesan Cheese

These oven-toasted crostini make an excellent snack to serve with toppings. Or serve the crostini with soup or as croutons.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 baguette (French bread loaf)
  • 2 to 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Kosher salt or flaky sea salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 3 to 4 tbsp freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Heat the oven to 375°F.
  • Slice the baguette about 1/2-inch thick.

  • Brush both sides of each slice of bread with olive oil and then sprinkle lightly with the kosher or sea salt, freshly ground black pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese.
    2 to 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil | Kosher salt or flaky sea salt | Freshly ground black pepper | 3 to 4 tbsp freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes. Turn and continue baking for about 5 minutes longer, or until nicely browned.
  • For extra crisp crostini, leave them in the turned-off oven for 5 to 10 minutes.
