Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium avocado
  • 1 small clove garlic, grated on a microplane zester, See Notes
  • 3 tbsp red onion, minced
  • ¼ cup tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 to 3 tsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp cilantro, chopped
  • salt, to taste
  • Dash cayenne pepper, optional

  • Mash the avocado in a small bowl; add the grated garlic, red onion, tomatoes, lime juice, and cilantro.

  • Taste the guacamole and add salt as needed.

  • Add a dash of cayenne for heat, if desired.

  • Enjoy immediately or cover tightly and refrigerate until serving time.

Notes

If you don't have a microplane grater, mince the garlic clove and sprinkle with a pinch of salt. With the flat of your knife, scrape and press it to make a paste.
