Ingredients
  

  • 1 large cabbage
  • 1 large carrot
  • ¾ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar , or to taste
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp celery seeds
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Shred the cabbage and carrots and transfer them to a large bowl.

  • In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, and celery seeds. Whisk to blend.

  • Toss the cabbage mixture with the dressing until moistened. Taste the slaw and add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, then transfer to a serving bowl.

  • Tip: Don't be tempted to add more mayo yet! As it sits, the cabbage wilts and releases moisture, which actually makes the dressing much creamier on its own.
