  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef. Cook, undisturbed, for 4 minutes. Break the ground beef up and add the finely chopped onion. Continue cooking and stirring for about 4 minutes longer or until the beef is no longer pink. Add the garlic, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce and cook for 1 minute. Season with kosher salt and pepper.
1 tablespoon vegetable oil | 1 pound lean ground beef | 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion | 1 large clove garlic | 1 teaspoon onion powder | 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce | 1 teaspoon kosher salt | 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Add the mayonnaise sauce mixture to the skillet and stir to combine.

  • Using a large serrated knife, carefully slice the flat of Hawaiian rolls horizontally, so you have a flat of bottoms and a flat of tops. Place the bottoms, cut side up, on the foil-lined baking sheet. Spoon the ground beef mixture over the bottoms, spreading it gently to evenly cover them. Top with the dill pickle slices.

The ground beef mixture and pickles are layered on the Hawaiian rolls.
  • Top with the American cheese, overlapping slightly or cutting the slices as needed to cover the filling.
    5 slices American cheese
  • Place the tops on the filling and brush with the melted butter. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
2 tablespoons melted butter | 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
The tops are placed on the filling and brushed with melted butter, then sprinkled with sesame seeds.
  • Bake the sliders for 8 minutes, then tent with foil and continue baking for 7 to 9 minutes longer or until the cheese is melted and the sliders are golden brown.
