Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar to the pan.
    4 tbsp salted butter | 1/4 cup light brown sugar | 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Cook the butter and sugar mixture for 1 minute, stirring constantly until bubbly. Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a boil. Boil, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.
    1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Remove the glaze from the heat and let it cool slightly. Spoon the warm caramel glaze over a cooled cake or dessert.
  • Use the glaze while still warm for the smoothest drizzling. If it thickens too much as it cools, warm it briefly over low heat or stir in a small splash of cream to loosen it.
