Butterscotch Bars

Ingredients
  

  • 2/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 1/4 cups light brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Heat the oven to 350 F. Grease and flour 1- x 15-inch jelly roll pan.
  • In a mixing bowl with an electric mixer, beat the butter and brown sugar together until smooth and well blended. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla.
  • Sift together the dry ingredients and add to the butter and sugar mixture. Stir until well blended.
  • Fold in the nuts and chocolate chips.
  • Spread the batter in the prepared pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until set and golden brown.
