Basic Herb Butter

This simple herb butter is terrific on steaks or chops and keeps well in the fridge or freezer.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tablespoons softened butter
  • Dash kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons finely snipped fresh chives
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  • Combine the butter, salt, pepper, chives, and parsley. Shape into a log and wrap in plastic wrap or waxed paper.
  • Refrigerate until chilled and firm, then slices as needed.
  • Grill steaks, corn on the cob, or fish until done as desired and serve with a thin slice of the herb butter.
  • Makes about 4 tablespoons of herb butter.
