Ingredients
  

  • Oil or cooking oil spray, for the basket
  • 1 ½ pounds chicken wings (drumettes and flats), about 12 to 15 pieces
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp finely minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
  • Ranch dressing (optional), for serving

  • Prepare the Air Fryer: Brush the air fryer basket with a little oil or spray it with a cooking oil spray. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

  • Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken wings with paper towels to dry. Sprinkle with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper and garlic powder; toss with the baking powder.

  • Baking powder tip: Use aluminum-free baking powder for the best flavor, and make sure the wings are very dry before tossing them with the seasoning.
  • Transfer to the air fryer: Arrange the wings in the air fryer, standing some of them up and leaning them against the side of the basket as necessary. You may have to cook two batches in a smaller air fryer.

  • Air-fry: Cook for 25 minutes, flipping every 10 minutes. If they are still a bit pale, flip again and cook for another 5 minutes or so.

  • Prepare the Sauce: While the wings cook, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until aromatic. Avoid browning the garlic. Immediately transfer the sauce mixture to a large bowl.

  • Sauce the Wings: Transfer the cooked wings to the large bowl with the sauce mixture and toss to coat. Sprinkle the Parmesan and parsley over the wings, then gently toss until combined.

  • Serve: Serve with extra Parmesan cheese and ranch dressing if desired, and enjoy!
