Experience the delicious flavors of pepper steak with this easy-to-make recipe. Thinly sliced steak, onions, bell peppers, and a flavorful sauce make it a crowd-pleaser.
1 1/2 pounds beef, sirloin tip or round, cut in thinly sliced 2-inch strips
1 medium onion, sliced
1 1/2 green bell peppers, cut into strips
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1 14.5-ounce can diced tomatoes
1 beef bouillon cube or equivalent granules or base
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups wide noodles, about 6 ounces
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat; add beef strips and sprinkle with garlic powder. Sauté, stirring occasionally, until the meat is browned.
Remove meat from skillet; add onion and green bell pepper to the skillet and sauté for 2 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute longer.
Return meat to the skillet along with tomatoes and bouillon cube. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
Blend together the cornstarch, water, soy sauce, sugar, and salt. Add to meat mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Reduce heat and cook for 2 minutes longer.
Meanwhile, cook noodles following the package directions; drain.
Toss the hot noodles with the shredded cheddar cheese. Serve pepper steak with the cheddar noodles.
