If you don’t feel like standing over the stove tending burgers and the grill isn’t an option, the Instant Pot is a perfect solution. Burgers come out juicy and flavorful, and there’s less mess! I use my culinary torch to add a charred exterior to the burgers.

Serve these burgers with a tasty remoulade sauce or try this secret sauce or a chipotle aioli.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (at least 15 % fat)
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground beef with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well and shape into four 6-ounce burgers.
  2. Wrap each burger in a sheet of foil.
  3. Place a trivet in the Instant Pot and add 1 1/4 cups of water to the pot.
  4. Place the wrapped burgers on the trivet, stacking as necessary.
  5. Lock the lid in place, turn the valve to the sealing position, and choose the manual or pressure cook button (high pressure). Set the time for 12 minutes. For 8-ounce burgers, set the time for 14 minutes.
  6. When the time is up, carefully turn the valve to the venting position for a quick release.
  7. Unwrap the burgers and enjoy!
