If you regularly use ranch dressing, you will surely like this homemade buttermilk dressing. The recipe makes about 1/2 cup and lasts 1 week in the refrigerator.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup buttermilk (well shaken)
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons fresh chopped chives
  • 2 teaspoons fresh chopped dill
  • Optional: 2 teaspoons fresh chopped parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Combine the buttermilk, mayonnaise, chives, parsley, onion powder, and pepper in a container or jar. Cover the container tightly and shake the dressing mixture until well blended. Taste the dressing and add salt, as needed.
  2. Refrigerate the dressing and store for up to 1 week.
  3. Makes about 1/2 cup of dressing.
