These brown sugar blondies get extra flavor and texture from graham cracker crumbs, and they are full of chocolate chips or chunks.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed, light or dark)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup finely crushed graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips or chunks
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts or coconut, optional

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 F.
  2. Grease and flour a 9-inch square baking pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl with an electric mixer, combine the melted butter and brown sugar; beat until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until well blended.
  4. With the mixer on low speed, beat in the flour and salt until blended, then stir in the graham cracker crumbs, chocolate chunks, and chopped nuts or coconut, if using.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until set in the center but still soft. Do not overbake.
