This simple herb butter is terrific on steaks or chops and keeps well in the fridge or freezer.

- 4 tablespoons softened butter
- Dash kosher salt
- 1/8 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons finely snipped fresh chives
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
- Combine the butter, salt, pepper, chives, and parsley. Shape into a log and wrap in plastic wrap or waxed paper.
- Refrigerate until chilled and firm, then slices as needed.
- Grill steaks, corn on the cob, or fish until done as desired and serve with a thin slice of the herb butter.
- Makes about 4 tablespoons of herb butter.
