Basic Herb Butter

This simple herb butter is terrific on steaks or chops and keeps well in the fridge or freezer.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons softened butter
  • Dash kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons finely snipped fresh chives
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Combine the butter, salt, pepper, chives, and parsley. Shape into a log and wrap in plastic wrap or waxed paper.
  2. Refrigerate until chilled and firm, then slices as needed.
  3. Grill steaks, corn on the cob, or fish until done as desired and serve with a thin slice of the herb butter.
  4. Makes about 4 tablespoons of herb butter.
