- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce, or more low-sodium
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 3 tablespoons sugar, or to taste
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 scallions, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
