  1. Heat the oven to 350 F.
  2. In a bowl, combine the sauerkraut, apples, and brown sugar; stir to blend ingredients. Transfer to a 9-by-13-by-2-inch baking pan or 2 1/2-quart shallow casserole.
  3. Place the pork chops on the sauerkraut mixture and sprinkle with salt. Cover and bake for 1 1/2 hours. Remove cover the last 15 minutes to brown.
