Crunchy and sweet, these homemade sugared pecans are a delicious treat. Customize the recipe with your favorite spices and nuts.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 4 cups pecan halves (about 14 ounces)

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 250 F.
  2. Spray two baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Beat the egg white until frothy. Beat in the sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Stir the pecans into the egg white mixture until well coated. Spread the pecans out over the prepared baking sheets in a single layer. Try to leave a little space between the pecans so they won’t form clumps.
  5. Bake for 1 hour.
  6. Cool the pecans and store in tightly covered containers.
