Parmesan croutons are the perfect topping for a salad or bowl of soup, and they are a snap to make and bake with cubed bread, garlic, and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup minced parsley
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed and finely minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 12 slices white bread, cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300 F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly brush with oil or spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Melt the butter in a skillet or saucepan over medium heat; stir in the parsley and garlic. Remove from heat and add the Parmesan cheese.
  4. Toss the bread cubes in the butter mixture until the cubes are well coated. Arrange the bread cubes on the prepared baking sheet, sprinkle lightly with salt, and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until browned.
  5. Store in a tightly covered container or food storage bag.
  6. Serve the croutons over salads or soups.
