These amazing cherry cobbler bars are always a hit!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups (396 grams) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (382 grams) flour
  • 1 teaspoon table salt
  • 2 21-ounce cans cherry pie filling

Vanilla Icing

 

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 4 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Oven and Pan Prep: Heat the oven to 350 F and grease and flour a 10-by-15-inch jelly roll pan.
  2. Make the Cake Base: Combine the butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer for 3 minutes or until light and fluffy. Beat the eggs in one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Add the vanilla and almond extract and beat until blended.   3. Assemble and Bake: Measure 3 cups of the batter and spread it in the prepared baking pan.
