To Make the Dough By Hand
- Warm the water to 100 F to 110 F. Add the yeast and sugar to the warm water and stir. Let stand for 5 minutes, until foamy.
- Combine the remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl with the yeast mixture. Stir to blend thoroughly and transfer to a pastry board or countertop dusted surface.
- Knead the dough for 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- Grease a large bowl with olive oil. Place the dough in the bowl and turn it to coat all sides with the oil.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- Roll the dough to fit the pizza pan, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 15 minutes.
- Bake as directed.
