Strawberry and Peach Dessert Sauce

Fresh summer strawberries and canned or fresh peaches team up in this delightful dessert sauce. Serve it as an accompaniment with pancakes or spoon the sauce over angel food cake or pound cake. It tastes like summer!

Cook Time: 8 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes



*Replace the canned peaches with 2 cups of fresh sliced peaches and use 1/2 cup of peach nectar in place of the juice.

  1. Drain the peaches and reserve the juice.
  2. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the sugar and cornstarch; add the juice and blend well. Cook over medium-low heat until thickened, stirring frequently. Add almond flavoring, the peach slices, and the sliced strawberries; heat through.
  3. Serve over slices of pound cake, angel food cake, ice cream, or biscuits. Or use it as a sauce for pancakes or waffles.

Makes 4 Servings
