Quick and Easy Creole Sauce

This Creole sauce is made with the "holy trinity" of Cajun and Creole cooking -- onion, bell pepper, and celery. Garlic adds extra flavor.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes



  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, bell pepper, and celery; cook for about 4 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute longer.
  2. Stir the remaining ingredients into the vegetable mixture and turn the heat to low. Simmer, uncovered, for about 15 minutes.
  3. Add shrimp and sausage or serve with chicken or fish fillets.

Makes 4 to 6 Servings
