Make Ahead Layered Salad

In a large bowl (about 6-quart), layer half of the lettuce, onion, celery, bell pepper, egg slices, and peas. Combine the mayonnaise and sugar ; spread half over the pea layer. Repeat layers, ending with the mayonnaise mixture. Top with the shredded Cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.

Cover and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours.
