Sweet and Sour Cabbage Soup

Ground beef makes this cabbage soup delicious and hearty. Serve this cabbage soup with crusty rolls and a tossed salad for a flavorful and satisfying everyday meal.

In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, Cook the ground beef in the oil with onion until beef is browned and onion is tender. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute longer. Add the beef broth and tomatoes. Stir in lemon juice, sugar, pepper, cabbage, and bay leaves. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes. Discard bay leaves and add salt, as needed.
