Creamy Green Beans au Gratin

In this green bean casserole recipe, canned green beans are layered with bacon and shredded cheese then an egg mixture is poured over all.

- Heat the oven to 375 F.
- Put beans into a shallow, buttered baking dish.
- Sprinkle green beans with crumbled bacon and shredded cheese. in a bowl, combine half-and-half or light cream, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and eggs; whisk to blend well.
- Pour over beans and bake for 25 minutes, or until set.
