Tomato and Cheese Sauce for Pasta

print This cheesy tomato sauce makes a hearty and delicious pasta sauce. Serve this sausage sauce on hot cooked spaghetti, linguini, or farfalle.

  1. In a skillet over medium heat cook sausage with onion, garlic, carrot and mushrooms until carrot is tender and meat is browned, about 10 minutes. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add tomato sauce, water, and Italian seasoning. Simmer, uncovered, for 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Stir in cheeses until sauce is hot and cheese is melted.
  4. Serve this cheesy tomato and sausage sauce over hot lightly buttered pasta.
