Simple Baked Potatoes

print There's little drama in baked potatoes, but they're always a favorite side dish. For baking, choose long, nicely shaped russet or baking potatoes free from blemishes and cuts. Feel free to roll the oiled potatoes in coarse salt before baking

Total Time: 1 hour 25 minutes



  1. Scrub the potatoes and pat dry. Rub the potatoes with the olive oil and prick in several places with a sharp fork or skewer.
  2. Arrange the potatoes on the oven rack and bake for 1 to 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender. Squeeze them or prick with a fork to test for doneness.
