German-Style Beef Stew Recipe

  1. Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Add the beef cubes and cook, stirring, until browned.
  2. Add the vinegar, sugar, chopped onion, and beef broth. Simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, until beef is tender.
  3. Add the mushrooms.
  4. Combine 1 1/2 tablespoons of flour with about 1 to 2 tablespoons of water; stir until smooth.
  5. Stir the flour mixture into the stew and cook, stirring, until thickened.
  6. Serve over noodles.
