Easy Barbecued Beef

This is a super simple pot roast made with barbecue sauce and basic seasonings. Cook this pot roast in the slow cooker after just a few minutes of prep time. The beef can be sliced or shredded, depending on how long it cooks. Shredded beef is fantastic in sandwiches!

Instructions:

  1. Place the roast into the crock pot and add the salt and pepper and cayenne pepper. Pour the barbecue sauce over the beef, covering completely.
  2. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 9 hours.
  3. Cook the sauce down on the stovetop to reduce and thicken or use a mixture of a a tablespoon or two of flour mixed with a small amount of cold water to thicken the sauce.
