Mississippi Fried Oysters

These basic fried oysters are delicious with tartar sauce, remoulade, or a cocktail sauce. Enjoy with fries or use to fill a po' boy.

Total Time: 30 minutes
- Drain oysters and soak in the beaten eggs.
- Mix cornmeal, sugar, salt, pepper and flour.
- Dip oysters in cornmeal mixture and fry in deep shortening (heated to about 370 F) until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
